June/July goals!

The usual stuff. :D

June goals:
- stitch Mirabilia RR - about halfway done!
- finish angel #1 on AP - finished AP!
- finish angel #3 on AP - finished AP!
- no stashing! zero, zip, nada! - nope!

Whatever, I finished AP so I'm awesome no matter what. 8D

July goals:
- stitch/send Mirabilia RR on time
- finish Espressioni
- redo messed up beads on Beaded Dragonfly Tile
- reach one corner of Beaded Dragonfly Tile

I know I promised pictures but I only have one!

I'm adding the Lily of the Valley pixie for the Mira RR. The kreinik covers surprisingly well on the 28 count fabric! I generally avoid 28ct and opal fabrics, but this one has been very easy to work with, so I'm pretty happy about that!

Oh, wait, I can show where I left off with Beaded Dragonfly Tile!

I still need to remove and fix a row of beads, but I think I'm just going to turn them 90 degrees to get around the issue of them not fitting properly. Yeah. That sounds good...

I should probably get off the computer and go stitch...

  1. Good start I love the dragonfly tile. It's funny because I love stitching on opalescent and 28 ct fabrics!

  2. I was just hoping for some advice:
    I just started this:

and there are a lot of areas of very dense color changes (I mean like, one stitch and new colors all around). Do you have any hints or tips on how to tackle something like this? I've never done something this dense, and have been focusing on the solid color areas for now.

    Thank you.

    1. Hi! I'd recommend the parking technique to deal with the different colors. These are two tutorials that I found useful.

But if you search for "stitch parking tutorial" there are many other sites and even some videos showing how to do it.

If you check out the HAED label on this blog, you can see how it looks when the piece is in progress.

It does take a day or two to get used to the technique, so if you decide to give it a shot, be sure to give yourself enough time with it. It felt awkward at first but once I got into the rhythm of how it works, it was easy. I'll never do a solidly stitched pattern any other way now! :)
