Stitch from Stash - March report!

I think the fact that I haven't posted in almost two weeks kind of lets you know how this post is gonna go...

New starts from stash:
- NONE, unless we count the Sylveon freebie I stitched up for my Pokemon group's spring swap event.  It got finished as a cute no-sew cube before it was sent off to a new home!  I'm kind of sad I couldn't keep this for myself, but I can always make another one. :D

If you want to make your own cube, here's the tutorial I used, it was GREAT!  And it's seriously so easy to do, it only took me about an hour to make the cube and that's only because I was anal and kept going back to repin things as I went along. :3

WIPs or UFOs worked on:
- Cattleya Orchid Panel

After surrendering to the frog a while back, I actually made some good progress!  The entire center garden is done, except for the surrounding blackwork.  And beads, of course.  I've made some mistakes here and there, but I'm tired of frogging so it will just stay how it is.

Sorry for the partial pic, I didn't want to move the qsnap until I'm ready to work on another section, since I'm kind of worried about using the snap on the metallic blackwork... eee.

Amount spent:
NOTHING.  I was too worn out for stash enhancement this month between taking care of a sick cat and an unexpected full-time work opportunity - which is very much appreciated since kitty has really racked up the bills at the emergency vet!  I didn't spend a single penny on stitching stuff!

So I'm carrying over $28.30 to April, giving me a budget of $53.30 for the month.  I'm currently organizing a group buy of the Mirabilia "freebie" Arezzo from Casa Cenina, so I know I'll be spending at least part of that!  Might be a good time to grab another Renato Parolin pattern as well...

So... did anyone else buy anything good this month? :)

  1. Congrats on the zero spend! I bought a few bits but within budget. I needed beads and metallic thread for a design and it's not worth the postage unless you spend at least £10. So that is my excuse!

Love the Cattleya Orchid Panel, can't wait to see more of this one.

    1. Well, it's zero spend if you don't count how much I spent on nail polish... hee hee. Unfortunately this challenge seems to have shifted my spending problem to a different product! :p I really need to buckle down now, kitty was SO expensive. But worth it. Fuzzybutt. :)

Thanks! I'm kind of stalled out on those blackwork orchids (which look awesome on the chart and... less than awesome on the fabric) but once I get over that hump, it will go FAST! The bottom part is almost all regular cross stitch. Maybe I should skip ahead a bit!

    1. Kitty is feeling a lot better! He's supposed to be in a cage/crate until his checkup on Monday, but shh... I'm letting him out during the day since all he does is sleep anyway. I figure he's more comfortable sprawled out on the floor than he would be smooshed in a cage with his food bowls and a big litter box. :)

  4. I love how you finished Sylveon and think you should definitely stitch one for yourself! I'm in awe of anyone who stitches a Chatelaine piece. They are so incredibly detailed. Yours is lovely.

    1. I really might give in and do another Sylveon. Or maybe a Snivy, since that's MY fave Pokemon. :)

Chatelaines are challenging but they're not too hard! The instructions are pretty good for the most part (some of the info is scattered and found in unexpected places on the chart) and they really are a pleasure to stitch. They seem daunting and expensive but it's just one stitch at a time, and one thread at a time. Plus you can always convert the colors. :)
