last finish of the year!

Probably, haha. I don't think there's any chance of finishing something else!

After a couple of nights of Good Eats on Netflix (including an episode about popovers that made me get up and make popovers right that second! man I love popovers), I finished A Day at the Beach! Finally... poor thing had been lingering forever and it was sooo easy! I did at least half of the design in those two stitching/watching sessions.

It's the usual terrible picture, but at least I was able to color correct it so it's sort of okay. The fabric is more grey than blue, but I had to overcompensate a bit to get the floss colors correct.

As always, I turned my nose up at the cheap plastic pearls in the kit and attached some real ones! It's hard to tell in the picture but they have a nice glow that looks great with the beads.

It feels so nice to be in single-digit WIP territory again! Yes, I know I've been at 9 for a while, and this brings me down to 8, but... I'm starting Chinese Garden on January 1st so that'll bump it back up again. Except it won't! Ahhh, single-digit WIP land has been a dream of mine for a while. :)

stitchy plans for 2015!

Well, let's not talk about how I miserably failed my grand stitching plans for this year! In my defense, I was VERY sick for about three months, and after I started feeling better, I got verrry caught up in an old fandom of mine that ate up most of my free time in the second half of the year. (And it's not going to get any better in the new year, haha.)

But! I'm going to make some not-grand plans for 2015. :)

Current WIPs I want to finish next year:

- A Day at the Beach (Sweetheart Tree)
- Angel Procession (Wentzler)
- Beaded Dragonfly Tile (Chatelaine)
- Floral Fifteen (Just Nan)
- Gypsy Mermaid (Mirabilia)

These are all about half done, and the STree and JNan charts are relatively small. I find Mirabilia charts easy to stitch once I get in the groove, so the real challenges will be the Chatelaine and the Wentzler. I stalled out on the Chatelaine because I had trouble fitting the beads on 32ct (yes, even though they're delicas!) so I'll have to let that go for now and concentrate on the stitching.

And poor Angel Procession has been a WIP for so long, it's old enough to vote. :(  It's time for me to give it the love and respect it deserves. I think I'll concentrate on clearing out the other four WIPs first to get the ego boost of finishing a few things, and then work on AP as my focus piece.

How about those other WIPs?

- Air ACEO - Butcher (HAED)
- Fatum (Passione Ricamo)
- Night (Wentzler)
- Transcendence - Sessler (HAED)

Well. Transcendence for sure will NOT see a finish, even if I spend all year working on it! Air ACEO is relatively small so maybe I can aim for half? Night is barely started, though it is "small" for a full-sized Wentzler chart, and it's a special one to me because I originally started it ages ago when I was still in high school. I finished most of the figure but I ended up tossing my WIP because the linen was too small to comfortably fit the border. (That was a HARD decision to make!)

Fatum is relatively simple in comparison to all the others and is the one most likely to reach a finish. I stalled out when I saw the text on the bottom of the chart. I absolutely hate text on charts, I feel that it's very cheesy. I've seen it completed without the text but the border isn't perfect if you leave it off, so I'm conflicted about that... that's why I stalled out on it. Sigh.

Let's talk about new starts. :)

I also joined the A New Stitchy Start SAL, which is all about starting a big project on January 1st! I chose Chinese Garden by Chatelaine since I've had the full kit since the chart was a class project! It's such a shame for that to be sitting and waiting for so long, so I'm NOT waiting anymore!

awwww yeaaaaaah

For other projects, I want to work from my bucket list instead of just doing random things, either to fit in with a SAL or to otherwise be part of a group. I want to focus on my favorite charts and make some progress on the ones that are extra special to me. I'll probably pick a Mirabilia and a Renato Parolin design from the list early on in the year,

Probably one of these Miras...

And these are my two bucket list Parolins, though I should probably add Christmas to that list too!

I know that was a super boring wall o' text type post, but I wanted to get it all out there before my attention wandered again!

I made the thing!

Bless you, no-sew cube. You make any crappy finish look great.

Sorry, only one picture of this thing because it doesn't look good head-on... it's kind of boring to look at it that way. But looking at it from the side a bit is pretty nice!

Well, at least I have a present for ONE person this Christmas. I'll be giving this to my MIL on Friday or Saturday since she'll be leaving on a trip before Christmas and I want to make sure she has it before then.

I might switch out the bow on top for something else... I got frustrated and just slapped a premade bow on it when I couldn't get the ribbon to cooperate with me. Ahaha. It does make it look like a gift box, though, so I'll probably leave it. Plus, laziness.

small giveaway!

Kind of literally as these are three of the smalls I recently completed. :)  I'm giving away all three charts to the same person (sorry, don't want to deal with mailing multiple packages at this time) so if you like these, please enter!

My goal is to give away a lot of the charts I complete, but I haven't stitched a lot this year, so I haven't done a lot of giveaways... BUT I finally have these three!

The three charts are:
  1. Ink Circles - Four de Lys
  2. Brooke's Books - Fiona the Fay
  3. Elizabeth's Designs - Dragonfly II
These are just charts - no charms, fabric, floss, or anything else. :p  If you check my list of finishes, you can see what each one will look like when completed.

If you'd like to enter the giveaway, please:
  1. Be a follower of this blog. (New followers are welcome too!)
  2. Comment below, clearly stating that you want to enter.
  3. Check back on December 31 to see if you've won!
Well, that's it! I'll ship anywhere in the world, so anyone can enter! (If you're outside the US, the package will not have any sort of tracking, it will be sent as regular mail and may take a long time to arrive... but hey, it's free!)

Stitch from Stash - December report!

aka the final stashinating of 2014. :)

New starts from stash:
- Christmas Ornaments (Nora Corbett)

Though it doesn't really count since I also purchased it with this month's budget. I needed a small and elegant pattern for my MIL's Christmas gift and at $2 for the PDF download, it was perfect!

WIPs or UFOs worked on:
- none, I've been slacking on stitching for a while :p

Amount spent:
I said I wasn't going to spend much of my remaining $129.48 budget (includes the $50 year end bonus) buuuut... okay, don't hate me, but I'm fortunate enough to have not just one, but TWO LNS. (LNSes? I don't know, haha.) They're 3 Stitches and ABC Stitch Therapy, which are oddly located within walking distance of each other, which I think is stupid and not a coincidence, but I'm not here to complain about that...

ABC is having an in-store only special until the end of the year - 30% off everything, plus some other items at 40% off. So this happened:

Mermaid Verde (Nora) & the Just Nan ABC exclusive:

40% off fabric! Got a FH of lavender Belfast for only $22.
I'll use it for Chatelaine's Sparkling Peacocks!

40% off these cute Shephard's Bush kits that my wife wanted. :3

And this amazing Crossed Wing fabric (Autumn Oak) because... well, LOOK AT IT.
And this isn't even a good picture.

Ahem. So between that and the two PDF charts I bought earlier this month, I spent $127.14 total, leaving me with about two bucks for the rest of the year. Haha. And I DID actually put back a bunch of things I'd picked up at ABC, including making some changes to my order right at the register to make sure I stayed within the budget and bonus!

Since I'm going to be co-admin of Stitch From Stash next year, I thought it would be mighty hypocritical if I failed out of this year's challenge at the last minute. :p

And so, I feel like SFS has really made a difference for me this year! Not just for me, but for my wife as well... I did end up spending ALL of my budget, but I STUCK TO A BUDGET. In the past, I'd just go nutty and get whatever I wanted without thinking deeply about it. This year, I had to make careful choices about what I was buying, watch for sales, and try to save up my budgeted amounts from month to month.

I know this is basic stuff for many people, and that with $25 a month, that's still $300 a year for stash, which is more than a lot of stitchers have for hobby money. But, er, in the past, my wife and I could blow $300 a MONTH between the two of us (yarn's not cheap either! if you get the good stuff, anyway, haha), so I'm really happy with the changes I've made. We're very fortunate to have low expenses and a lot of "extra" cash - or at least we DID until I got sick and couldn't work for a while. I'm still not working, but maybe that will change in the new year as well. :)

Well, this is getting pretty long so I'm going to stop now... :)

finally finished!

Woohoo! I finished the Nora Corbett ornaments and I even picked up the supplies I'll need to make it into a no-sew cube so I can give it to my MIL for Christmas. :)

I actually finished this up at knit group tonight! And yes, I was good and actually did some knitting after this too. I've been better about actually KNITTING at knit group this year instead of just dragging a cross stitch along and doing my own thing. :p

Ahhh, what should I work on next? One of my WIPs for sure... I wonder if I can squeeze in another finish this year. Maybe not, with all the fandom stuff I've been caught up in lately...

boring admin-y post :)

Blah, I transferred my blog from my old gmail address to my personal email, and of course it didn't transfer the list of blogs I'm following!

So if it looks like I've suddenly unfollowed you, I promise that was NOT my intent! I'm going to go back through and start refollowing everyone, but that's a project for tomorrow, when I'm not half asleep.

Thing is, I think my old email address is still showing up as a follower, so maybe everyone will end up with an extra follower instead.

Oh well, it had to be done, I was sooooo tired of having to sign into an account I neverrrr use just so I could read the blogs I'm following! I guess this will help me clean up the list and limit it to bloggers who are currently active... though I'll be sad about missing older blogs that had good stuff in them!

Hmm, to make this less boring, here's a nice picture of threads. :p

Mega Mini Month Madness - November post #8

I don't know if this really counts as a mini, but since I was able to finish almost all of the cross stitches in just two days, I'm going to call this a mini anyway. :p

It's Christmas Ornaments by Nora Corbett, and it's available as a PDF download from Herschnerrs, which is convenient! If you use the coupon code CSN20, you can get 20% off your first order of downloadable patterns, so I picked up this one and the Halloween Fairy too. I'm stitching this one as a Christmas present for my MIL since she seems to really like all the stitched gifts I've given her so far. They're all on display in her house year-round. :D

There's just one more ornament on the bottom of the right side, and then a few star-shaped fancy bits around the ornaments... and then a TON of beads. Seriously, a LOT of beads. And I look forward to that because I looooooove beading. :D

I just... that solid-ish red ornament, the second one down on the left side, does that look okay to everyone? With the large dark area on it, it creates the illusion that it's caved in rather than round. Or is that just me? It kind of really bothers me and I'm thinking about redoing that area in another color, but I'm not sure if that will make it better or worse... sigh.

Stitch from Stash - November report!

Oops, better get this posted before I forget. :3

New starts from stash:
- Four de Lys (Ink Circles)
- Love ornament (Mill Hill)
- Dragonfly II (Elizabeth's Designs)

I finished them all, too. Go me! :)

WIPs or UFOs worked on:
- none, been working on smalls all month :)

Amount spent:
$17.84 - got another spool of Kreinik to finish off a project, plus one chart (Mermaid Undine by Mirabilia) since I hate to pay shipping on just one thread! I had $72.32 in the bank up until now, so I'll carry over $54.48 to next month.

I don't really have anything in mind to buy with my budget... working on all the smalls this month has really made me realize how much I already have! If I end up getting anything else this year, it will probably be something that I mentioned in a previous Stitch from Stash post.

I mean, I'll have up to $129.48 to spend in December, from the regular budget, my carry over amount, and the $50 end of year bonus, but that seems like an awful lot. I may not buy anything at all, to be honest. Oh, well, I do need to renew my CS&N subscription, but that's all I really want right now...

I guess this year of budgeting has really helped change my habits for the better!

Mega Mini Month Madness - November post #7

Yes, another post. And another little finish!

This is Dragonfly II by Elizabeth's Designs. As always, it's a terrible picture of a cute project. One of these days I'll have to take some pictures in natural light, but I know if I leave this until tomorrow, I'll forget to post...

What's next? Wait and see. :D

Mega Mini Month Madness - November post #6

One more little finish for this month!  This one was a true mini, a Mill Hill beaded kit that's simply titled Love. :3  It was VERY quick and easy, completed in one evening!

This makes me want to do another MH kit, but I have something else in mind for this week... hopefully I'll have something new to show soon! :D

Mega Mini Month Madness - November post #5

Super quick post - I finished Four de Lys! :D

Sorry for the horrible picture. I always seem to finish things at night, and no matter what I do, the pictures are terrible.

Off to bed! :)

Mega Mini Month Madness - November post #4

Small update on Four de Lys... kind of sad that I've only stitched this much in the past week, but I've been "busy" with other things. Haha. :p

[missing image, sorry!]

I'm going to put in some serious time on this one, starting right now! :)

Mega Mini Month Madness - November post #3

Hihi, me again with another post!

I've (mostly) finished Fiona the Fay... she just needs a few more bows and a backing, but I got tired after all the cutting and sewing the bits together. :3

[missing image, sorry!]

She's a lot cuter than I expected.  I felt kind of iffy when I was cutting out the pieces, but once the parts were assembled it was like magic!

And here's Four de Lys by Ink Circles... not a lot of progress but again, video games. :p  Sorry about the bad picture, I had to use the flash and that never looks great with stitching.

[missing image, sorry!]

It's about half done so that's not too bad, but I'd really like to finish this one soon and pick another small from my giant pile of possibilities!

Mega Mini Month Madness - November post #2

I didn't expect to have another post so soon, but tonight I started on the lovely Four de Lys by Ink Circles, which at about 75x75 stitches isn't exactly mini, but close enough. :)  It's not solidly stitched so it works up fast, this is at least 10% done already.  And I swear this only took about an hour.

The colors aren't great but I'm using a nice blue/green silk thread on a piece of raw (I think) Belfast.  This wasn't what I originally wanted to stitch, though!  I had a cute magazine cover kit for Christmas ornament tags, but apparently I can't get along with Aida (which is kind of odd to type as that's my MIL's name, ahaha):

Warning for somewhat icky pic but I didn't actually hurt myself!

Oops.  I pushed too hard trying to do a quarter stitch (seriously, on Aida? screw that!) and got it caught under my skin.  When I pick this little kit up again, I'll be using some linen!

Hopefully everyone else is having an uneventful stitching week. :p

Mega Mini Month Madness - November post #1!

Whee!  Justine over at Justine's Cross Stitch has decided to continue the MMMM event into November, so I've joined in for another month!  There's still time to sign up before November 5 if you'd like to participate!

Since I'm taking on NaNoWriMo again this year, I think it will be good to keep my focus on smaller projects instead of going back to one of my big monsters. :3  By the way, if you're participating in NaNo as well, feel free to add me as a writing buddy!

I still need to pick a new project, but for now, I've done as much as I can on witchy Fiona.  I ran out of the dark blue kreinik so I'll need to pick up a new spool before I can complete her.

I hate paying shipping for just one thread, so I may pick up a chart from my wishlist too.  It's been a while since I've done any shopping!

I'll go stash diving tomorrow to pick out my next project! :)

Stitch from Stash - October report!

Well, here is a boring post from me! I've done some stitching this month, but nothing impressive. I blame video games, Tumblr, fanfiction, and my habit of making doofy websites for things I like. :p

New starts from stash:
- By the Sea Needlekeep (Jeannette Douglas Designs)
- Fiona the Fay (Brooke's Books)

WIPs or UFOs worked on:
- none, oops!

Amount spent:
Nothing! So I now have $47.32 to carry over to next month. That seems like an awful lot, especially since there's also the $50 bonus that can be used at any time. I have the feeling that my next purchases will be a couple of Chatelaine charts and bead packs...

Iris and Tulip are the companion pieces to the Orchid I finished earlier this year. It honestly was an enjoyable stitch, just stressful at the time because my cat was sick. I think I'd really enjoy working on these two now that life is back to normal!

But for now I'll finish up the mini stitches I started this month. :)

Mega Mini Month Madness - week 5!

Posting early again!

I've been hard at work on my cute witch ornament, and stitching on the perforated paper is more fun and easier than I expected!  I finished all the parts that are done on the silver paper (hat, spider, and wand) and I've made a good dent in her dress too.  All the blue is sparkly, so it's super shiny!

Unfortuately, I had to double up the dark blue Kreinik since it's unusually soft and has very light coverage for a #4 braid, so I'm almost out of it.  The lighter blue is also a #4 but covers fine with just one strand.  I'll still stitch as much as I can since there's a bunch of DMC to be added as well, but I'm a little sad that I went through the dark blue so fast.  I must have used that color on something else recently but I can't remember exactly what it was!  Maybe a mermaid?

But yes, I highly recommend these cute Brooke's Books ornaments!  The colors are so nice and I'm really enjoying stitching on the paper. :)

Mega Mini Month Madness - week 4!

I'm pretty sure I'll have another MMMM post before the end of the week, but just in case... here's my official week four post!

I'm going to consider this finished for now because I'm not sure what I want to do with it from this point.  I don't like big needlebooks, but this will be kind of tiny at this size.  Since I can't decide, I'll let it rest a bit before I make any decisions!

I don't know if I'll start my mini witch next as I'm missing some of the threads (blasted #8 Kreinik, who uses that weight of thread?!) or if I'll find an alternate project.  Plus I'm still massively wrapped up in gaming and fandom and writing these days so stitching is sloooooow at the moment.

Feels nice to finish something though!

Mega Mini Month Madness - week 3!

Squeaking in a little before midnight... :3

Such a small amount of progress, I know. :(  I really haven't been stitching much lately because I've been caught up in gaming and writing recently, but I think I'll pick this back up tomorrow and go for a finish. :)  This entire section (both squares) is actually the front cover of the needlebook, but maybe I'll just make this a tiny square needlebook instead of a tallish rectangular one.  I don't feel like repeating this pattern on the back and I don't like the text that was originally there.

Bah.  I'll concentrate on finishing this part first and then decide what to do next.

For now... bed. :p

Mega Mini Month Madness - week 2!

I'm really not making good progress here, but I've been so busy with other stuff.  I need to step it up this weekend, this is the kind of project I'd normally finish in less than a week!

I'm kind of embarrassed about posting a pic with such a shamefully small amount of stitching...

I decided to start with the needlebook because I don't have any of the Kreinik that's required for the cute witch ornament, and I'm still trying to decide if I want to convert her to DMC for the cheap factor, or buy at least the two main colors so she'll be sparkly.  On a budget this month!  And every month, hee hee. :)

Mega Mini Month Madness - week 1!

Ahhh, I signed up for a month long SAL of mini projects at Pull the Other Thread, and I'm already running a bit behind! (Let's just leave it at leaky roof and emergency vet instead of going into details. *sigh*)  Fortunately, it's okay to post the project plans in week one, so here's what I plan to work on this month. :)

Right now, I'm going to start with either Fiona the Fay by Brooke's Books (which will require the perforated paper) or By the Sea Needlekeep by Jeannette Douglas Designs.  If I manage to finish these two in the month, I'll grab another mini and start that too!  I'm hoping to do way more than this, but with the way the month is going so far... ugh.

I figure these are acceptable mini sizes since Fiona is ornament sized and the needlebook is pretty small, judging from the teeny rectangle of felt that's included with the kit. :)

Stitch from Stash - September report!

I haven't been stitching much this month, though I started out really strong with a ton of progress on Gypsy Mermaid.  I kind of got sucked into gaming (again) and started doing some fandom things (blogging, etc) so that ate up my evenings. :)

New starts from stash:
- none

WIPs or UFOs worked on:
- A Day at the Beach (Sweetheart Tree)
- Gypsy Mermaid (Mirabilia)

Amount spent:
$27.68 total, but I had $50 in the bank, so I still have $22.32 to carry over to next month.

My purchases were:

Victoria Sampler - June needleroll kit ($7.68)

Brooke's Books set of 10 witch designs ($20)
Still available at this price in her Etsy shop, FYI *enabling*

Okay, back to gaming... haha. :)

Saturday, September 06, 2014

this is getting ridiculous

Yup.  It's a fin.  That's the entire bottom half of the mermaid done in less than a week!

I guess I'll do the water around this part next!  But I absolutely have to get back to the last round robin I have for our group after that. :)

Friday, September 05, 2014

omg stahp it

I feel sorry for my poor needle.  Most of this was done this evening... I couldn't stitch much last night because I had a stupid nosebleed and I was afraid it would find a way to stain my fabric! (TMI?  I dunno, it's just a nosebleed...)

I thought there was a lot more left of the fin, but I think I've already done more than half...

So I guess I should say... if you've been thinking about this mermaid, you should definitely stitch her!  She's a LOT of fun and I feel like the fin is very "classic" Mirabilia with the multiple color changes to create a shiny/gleaming effect even without the use of any metallic threads.

Wednesday, September 03, 2014

it's a tail!

Yup yup, it's a tail.  You might argue that this isn't the entire tail, but I'd say this is the tail and the missing part is the fin. :p  I'd also say this is pretty amazing progress for just two days!  You can really see the flowers on her tail, especially from a distance.  When I stare at it up close, it just looks like a weird mess, but in the picture it's very clear that she has flowers all over her tail.

Tomorrow will be happy fun fin time.  Well, and probably the entire next week, since that fin is pretty monstrous. :3

Once I lose steam on the fin, I'll be good and get my round robin finished up too!

Next time I'll post some pics of my amazing Crafty Kitten fabric haul that finally arrived today. :D

September goals

I haven't done one of these in a while... looks like the last time I posted about my stitchy goals, it was way back in March!  But I'm ready for a challenge again. :3

September goals:
- complete and return the two band sampler RRs I'm working on (already finished one!)
- complete Gypsy Mermaid's tail (and fin!)
- finish A Day at the Beach
- no new starts!
- continue with Stitch from Stash!

That should be reasonable.  I've already done a big chunk of Gypsy Mermaid's tail this weekend, so I'll probably have her done early in the month.  I needed a break after the first band sampler because both of the pieces I have right now are Sweetheart Tree.  I love ST but all those delicate backstitched vines were making my eyes explode, so I'm taking a Mirabilia break for a bit. :p

Here's the round robin pic!  The colors are a lot nicer than shown here, but of course I'm always taking pictures late at night and the lighting is no good...

And here's the mermaid so far... I hated the orange tail at first but it's growing on me.  I'm still not sure about the bright yellow in the middle but I don't think I'll be making any changes at this point.  Probably.

No recent pic of A Day at the Beach, but here's how it looked a while back.  I've already added three of the yellow shells and some of the border, but I got annoyed with it after making a bunch of stupid counting errors.  It's not hard, just kind of tedious...

That's all for now.  Hopefully this will be a successful month!

Stitch from Stash - August report!

Nothing fantastically exciting this month, but I had two HUGE finishes so GO ME!

New starts from stash:
- none

WIPs or UFOs worked on:
- Bluebeard's Princess (finished!)
- Spring Knotgarden (finished!)

Amount spent:
Nothing!  That was one of my personal goals for the month and I'm happy to have met it. :)  Still have some medical bills to take care of, so next month will likely be more of the same.  Even so, still noting that I have $25 to carry over to next month, just in case. ;)

To make this less boring, some items I thought about this month were...

Emi and Ana by Nora Corbett
Such a cool pair, I love how they are clearly meant to go together William Tell style. :p

But I don't really need to buy anything.  From my stash, this was tempting...

Chinese Garden Mandala by Chatelaine

Buuut next month's stitching will be two round robin band samplers and my long-neglected Beaded Dragonfly Tile by Chatelaine.  Poor thing got shoved aside when I was having trouble fitting all the beads on 32ct fabric and it's been waiting patiently ever since!

It's stuck there at the moment.  I need to take out that row of beads near the top (see how a few of them are pushed out of alignment?) and try something else.  I think I may turn them all 90 degrees since they fit better that way, but I dunno.  Maybe I'll rechart a tiny bit and leave out two beads per side.  It's kind of sad how they allllllmost fit, but just barely don't.  Sigh.

I'll think about it AFTER my round robins are done!

Sunday, August 24, 2014

Spring Knotgarden is DONE!

FINALLY!  I put the last bead on a couple of hours ago, then ironed it and took it outside for some pictures.  Unfortunately, the sun is super bright right now, so the pictures came out a bit overexposed, and I wasn't able to correct them as well as I would have liked.  There will be more pictures later, but I couldn't have a huge finish like this and not post!

It's honestly not possible to capture the beauty and sparkle of this piece in a picture.  The colors are so much nicer than shown here! (For reference, the fabric is plain white Belfast so you can see how much the pictures are off.)  I'll try again later when it's not six bazillion degrees outside with the sun blazing down. :p

Friday, August 22, 2014

Spring Knotgarden - nearly there!

Super fast post... been working on this ever since I finished Bluebeard's Princess, and I keep forgetting to take a picture!  Next post on this one will be a finish! :D

Sorry for the terrible pic as usual, I'll be sure to take some nice ones when I finish.  Now... please excuse me, I have some more grass to stitch. :p

Wednesday, August 13, 2014

say hello to the fish lady!

Hihi, it's Bluebeard's Princess all done! :D

I'm too tired/busy/lazy right now to write a lot about her, plus no one really cares about a big wall of text when there's yummy finish pictures to be had!  So here's a bunch of pictures. :D

And no, I haven't ironed her yet, how could you tell? :p

I made some minor changes as I went along, but for the most part, she's stitched as charted.  I used whatever Delica beads I had on hand (I have a small stash of them for beadweaving) so the beads aren't exactly what the chart called for, but pretty close.  I made the beaded chains around her tail all in gold instead of gold and green because I wanted them to stand out more.  And of course, over-one skin and a different face, since her charted face looks kind of like an emotionless mask.
