another RR finish!

Whew, even though this was a relatively small block for a round robin, it took me forever to stitch this pretty lady! Here's part of Queen of Freedom. :)

And I have a mighty NEED for the new Mirabilia!

Mermaids are my favorite, and these two are just amazing! I love the patterning on their tails. I don't love the price of the bead pack, but since I intend to do a bit of a conversion, I probably shouldn't get the beads as a full set. Patience is good. :3

  3. That finish is gorgeous! I have a question for you. Do you frame and hang all of your kept finishes? Or do you gift most of it?

I love cross stitch and needlepoint but I don't do a lot of it because I don't really have a lot of room for displaying it.

    1. This particular piece is a round robin, so it will be passed around and eventually go home to its original owner. (But I'll also be getting one back in return!)

I frame and hang a lot of my finishes, or turn them into ornaments or other things. The entrance hallway to my house is lined with framed cross stitch, and I plan to add lots more as funds allow for framing. (I do all my framing myself but even that costs a bit of money, of which we currently have none...) There are some things that probably won't get framed or finished but for the most part, I do at least INTEND to display all my pieces.

I never really think about things in terms of "would I display this in my house" and just stitch what I like, though. Kinda like my wife's shawls... we hardly ever wear them, but she enjoys the process of making them.

(lol I forgot to post this as a reply at first)

  5. Uh-oh! Another Mirabilia? I look forward to seeing you stitch this one, but on a much more colourful fabric than is shown in the picture! You're going to have a lot of fun selecting a hand-dyed fabric for that one! :)
