a little more Air

Not bad, considering I started her about five days ago. :)  This is the entire width, now I'll just work my way dooooown... a long way down!

Not much to say, I guess!  Until next time. :)

a break from black!

Because when you get tired of stitching on black, the logical solution is to start an "easy" project like a HAED.  Right?  RIGHT.

So this is Air ACEO by Sara Butcher... about 2200 of 31500 stitches, and I only started her a couple of days ago!  This is my first project on "magic guide" evenweave, which has a grid woven right into the fabric.  It's a 25ct fabric from DMC and I got it from a UK seller.  It's pretty amazing, I must say.  I only wish it came in 28ct to make things just a bit finer...

I added a progress bar for her in my menu bar... hopefully this will move fast.  White fabric plus gridding and parking equals speedy stitching!  It also helps that her background is only a few colors.

I now have a lucky 13 WIPs. :p

more dragonflies!

You know, updates work better when you actually post them... I should have posted these pictures on Sunday.  Oops.

Normally I would try to be organized and post these in some sort of order, but I'm feeling lazy today so it's just going to be a big pile of pictures.  Enjoy. :p

slow progress...

I haven't had a lot of time to stitch this week... I keep getting distracted by other stuff. :(  It's annoying because I really want to do it, but I have the attention span of a ladybug and I end up playing video games or poking around online instead.  It's already 1pm here and I haven't done anything yet today!

Full view so far...

The flash washed out the colors a bit.

I really love the textured stitches in the corner!

I'm going to be ambitious and say I want to complete all four dragonflies this weekend.  And then I'll be realistic and say I'll actually finish outlining all four (one to go!) and bead one, so there will be two complete and two that are just waiting for beads.

In random gripes, I bought a few magazines on Zinio and the reader is such a piece of crap that it won't download anything new.  I'm giving up on that for now before I put my fist through the screen.  Also, the guy who was supposed to come mow the lawn at 9am didn't show up until about 11:30, which means we're trapped here at home instead of going to our usual Saturday lunch place.  I haven't eaten yet and I'm in a bad mood.  BOO. :x

four pretty buds...

Just a quick post to say the flower buds are done on Beaded Dragonfly Tile.  And I counted the colors... there are literally 20 colors in each bud.  21 if you count the backstitch... whoa.

I've actually started to fill in the dragonfly with beads, but I don't have a picture just yet. Maybe once I finish filling one up. :)

I'm really loving this one, and it looks so pretty on the black!

lots of beads

Seriously. A ridiculous amount of beads, really.  I've been dying to get a start on this cute little design and here it is after a few stitching sessions.

(Beaded Dragonfly Tile by Chatelaine)

I don't want to think about how many colors were in that flower bud.  And now I have to do three more of them... ahahaha. *sob*  Just kidding, it looks awesome and it's not THAT bad, I just got tired of threading up for four or five stitches!

Yes, the entire middle section IS beads.  Check it out from an angle to get the full effect!

I looooove dragonflies!  One of the story worlds my characters inhabit has a "race" (subspecies is more like it) of people with dragonfly wings who have traditional fairy powers like illusion and stuff like that.  So dragonflies are special to me. ^_______^

how did this happen? XD

Meet the WIP pile.  Ahahaha!  Where did all of these come from?  No wonder I haven't finished anything in a while. XD

I should probably take everything that's barely started and put it aside, so I can focus on things that have a chance of being finished sometime soon.  Hmm.

So it's actually 14 WIPs.  Sigh.  How many do YOU have?

I am a slacker :p

I was doing so well with posting, and then I stopped updating! Blah. Oh well, now I can start again. Here's Transcendence as of last night - almost done with page four!

I'll probably end up finishing the top row this week. It's pages 1-6, but only pages 2-5 have any stitching on them, and page 5 has maybe 200 stitches total, if that. I'll skip down to page 8 after that, since page 7 is another super-tiny partial and none of the stitches are connected to anything I've done thus far.

At this rate, I'll probably complete at least 12 pages this year, but of those 12, only 9 have any stitches. And 2 of those 9 are so tiny they probably shouldn't really count!

Are you sick of numbers yet? XDNext time I'll post a picture of my new start... Beaded Dragonfly Tile by Chatelaine. Yes, more stitching on BLACK. I am a crazy woman, what can I say? :p

post #200! Lots of stitching ^o^

Seriously, this is post #200 in this blog?  That is CRAZY.  I mean, my personal blog has over 600 entries, but that's 8.5 years of whatever I want to write about.  This is three years, 200 posts on one topic!  Go me. :p

Soooo, it's been a pretty good week for stitching, let's check it out. :D

Finished most of part eight of the PR SAL.  I'm saving the portion that's inside the border for later, once more of the pattern comes out.  I don't want to risk counting it wrong since I'm not stitching the background. Now, even though this is part eight, I still have parts 5, 6, 7, and now 9 to add!  Blaaaaah. XD

Restarted Mediterranean Mermaid, but I've only worked on her two nights so far, and not for very long either night as you can see here.  I should do more, this is a SAL with my good friend Jojo. ^____^

Buuuut I was really dying for a page finish on Transcendence and I finally got there!  I wish I could get a good picture, because some blues and purples are starting to emerge on the right edge.  Instead it's a giant white blob thanks to the black fabric and the flash.  Meh.

I've added a progress bar to the menu at right for this project.  I'll only be updating it with each page finish, at least until I get to some solid pages that are easy to count.  For now, I've been copying the symbols for each page, removing all the ones for the black, and using a program to count the ones that remain.  So it should be pretty accurate, if not perfect. :)

And of course, you can't escape the birdie!  He's all framed now. :D

I really want to start the Beaded Dragonfly Tile from Chatelaine, but I have over ten WIPs as it is. ;_____;  I don't think I should throw another on the pile.  There's a couple of HAEDs I'm itching to start too... hurry and take my fabric away so I can't do this.  Please. :p
