wings of forever

Or something. Lady Titania continues to grow... slowly. :p

I feel like I'm going a bit faster now.  Took her off the scroll frame and put her on the trusty q-snap, which is so much more comfortable for me.  Can still stitch two-handed if I want, but with the fabric positioned exactly where I want it.  Yay!  I don't think it's realistic to finish her this year, but I'll try.  Maybe over the long Christmas weekend... (ha ha ha)

And HOLY COW have you seen the new Mirabilia?  WHOA.

  2. She's looking so pretty... sometimes it feels like a patch is just taking forever, but she's definitely growing

    1. Hey Melinda, sorry I missed this question. I stitch with my right (dominant) hand on the back and my left in front. This is because my right hand is better at finding the right holes in the fabric even when I'm not actually LOOKING at my hand. My left hand is terrible (seriously, it's kind of pathetic how little control I have over my left hand!) but because I can see it, I can stitch with it.

I just use a large q-snap and brace it against my legs (if I sit with my legs drawn up) or if it's a smaller q-snap, I rest the bottom on my boobs. Haha! As long as the fabric is held taut in the frame, I can use both hands to stitch without it being too difficult.

I think the key is to experiment with what works for you. I tried floor stands and scroll frames, but I just don't like them. I need to have the work close to my face because my eyes are stupid, and I like to sit in all sorts of funny ways that don't work with a floor stand. If I use the floor stand, I always end up sitting on the edge of the couch and hunched over, and my back hurts after 30 minutes.

So... pick your favorite type of frame and try it! :)
